On Declaring the Year 2010 the Year of Quality
The year 2010 in the Republic of Belarus has been declared the Year of Quality with the aim of increasing further the quality of life of the Belarusian people, which implies ensuring a faster economic growth and increased competitiveness of the national economy, production modernisation by implementing state-of-the-art technologies, dynamic development of science and education, dramatic improvements in labour and living conditions of the population, rise in their wellbeing, improvements in the culture of inter-human relations.
