Belarusian athletes won the European Cup combined events round up the second year consecutive. At the European Cup Super League combined events competition in Hengelo the Belarusian team was composed of Andrei Kravchenko, Alexander Parkhomenko, Nikolai Shubenok and Alexander Korzun, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Track and Field Athletics Federation. Kravchenko's victory led the men of Belarus to the team title with 24,160 points, well ahead of the host Dutch squad, which tallied 23,367 points. The French team was third (23 268). Andrei Kravchenko tallied 8585 points, Alexander Parkhomenko took 7943 points, Nikolai Shubenok was 11th (7500) and Alexender Korzun finished 18th. The Belarusian women’s team (Irina Butor, Tatiana Alisevich, Marina Parkhomenko) tallied 16 646 points to become 4th at the First League competition in Jyvaskyla, Finland. Italy prevailed in the team battle, totalling 17,062, to win from Sweden (16,982) and the Czech Republic, who scored 16,667. |
