The number of large families is growing in Minsk. At the beginning of last year they were 4.018, and now they are 4.672. Financial support of such families is one of the priority issues of the city social policy, said Anatoliy Razhanets, the chairman of the Labour, Employment and Social Security Committee. Child benefits were paid to 63.426 Minsk residents, and special benefits were received by 316 families with twins. In accordance with the existing legislation a programme of State address public support is implemented in Minsk. During the first quarter of this year 1.399 families and lonely people (in total 3.405 people) got this backing. Main recipients are one-parent and large families. Actions aimed at helping certain categories of people have been implemented since 2004. |
