On April 19, 2008 Minskers took part in the nation-wide Subbotnik and earned 5 billion 872 mln roubles. In all, 692, 000 Minskers took part in the annual subbotnik. 5,8 bln roubles is not the final sum. A major contribution to Subbotnik was made by Minsk`s enterprises and organizations which manufactured industrial products to the sum of 8,6 bln roubles.

A half of the money earned at Subbotnik is intended to buy medical equipment for children's hospitals and polyclinics.
