Belarus Venezuela Friendship Society was created in Minsk on March 27. This society includes the representatives of different organizations, governmental bodies and cultural elite. The society is headed by Chancellor of the academy of management attached to the President of Belarus Anatoliy Morozevich. According to Charge d'affaires Ad Hoc of Venezuela to Belarus Americo Diaz Nunez, the creation of the society is an important gesture of the Belarusian side, which attests to their willingness to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries. “Despite a huge geographical distance between our countries and differences in culture, our peoples are willing to build up cooperation in different areas”, the diplomat said. “Cultural links are very important today, they lay the basis for a closer cooperation in other spheres of life”. Americo Diaz Nunez noted that the integration processes that are currently going on in Latin America are extremely important. He underlined that the states of this continent want to promote their cultures in other countries, including Belarus. The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Belarus Omar Medina Quintero, a Cuban citizen born in Venezuela. |
