The main issue of International Scientific and Practical Conference on virus infection which will take place in Minsk on 29-30 November 2007 is diagnosis and prevention of bird flu.

According to the specialists of World Health Organization, lethal virus which affected poultry and wild birds has already been detected in 65 countries, including Poland, Russia and Ukraine. Besides, in 12 countries the virus have been found in humans – 64 cases of human bird flu, 41 of them are lethal.

Luckily, there is no reason to worry – all necessary preventive measures against bird flu have already been taken in Belarus. Poultry farms are under the state veterinary-sanitary control and supervision.
