The leaders of the youth and children’s public organizations arrived in Minsk to take part in the forum “Children of Belarus: we chose healthy lifestyle.” The solemn opening ceremony of the forum will be held in the lyceum of Belarusian State University on May 30, BelTA learnt from Deputy Education Minister Tatiana Kovaleva.

This event is annually held at the beginning of summer holidays, she said. “Such meetings are the most efficient form of children’s participation in the public life,” Tatiana Kovaleva said. Children have an opportunity to discuss their activities within the framework of their own organizations and their cooperation with the educational and social institutions.

Participating in the forum are the representatives of children’s and youth public organizations from all over the country as well as the representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, the national committee on children’s rights and the ministries and agencies involved.

Among the organizers of the forum are the national committee on children’s rights, the Education Ministry of Belarus, the national centre of the creative work of children and youth of the Education Ministry and the representative office of the UNICEF in the Republic of Belarus.
