The head of the Administration of the President of Belarus Gennady Neviglas has taken part at the solemn ceremony of opening two new metro stations. He underlined that Minsk has the highest speed of metro construction among the CIS countries.

The construction of metro in Minsk began 30 years ago. Annually metro lines are extended by one kilometer. For the moment the total length of two lines of the Minsk Metro makes up 33 kilometers.

'Regularity, reliability and strict observance of diagrams of the Metro train during the rush hours, as well as popularity among citizens, makes Metro a national type of transport', - Gennady Nevyglas has emphasized.

Every day more than 800 thousand citizens of Minsk and guests of the capital use metro. It makes up one-third of the total amount of city passenger transportations.
