Minsk Tractor Plant /MTZ/ and Vietnamese company Mekong Corporation have signed a contract for the delivery of 521 tractors Belarus to Vietnam. MTZ will supply tractors with the capacity of 81, 90 and 130 hp. In 2007, MTZ exported 501 tractors to Vietnam. At present Minsk Tractor Plant supplies its equipment to Hanoi via seaports Klaipeda and Iljichevsk. This scheme is the most promising and profitable for the Belarusian company. Vietnam has bought Belarusian tractors for a long time. “Vietnam knows Belarusian machinery very well; there are our servicing centres in that country; we supply spare parts for our tractors to Vietnam,” deputy director of the marketing department of MTZ Nikolai Dubovets told BelTA. Minsk Tractor Works was founded on May 29, 1946. Today it employs almost 20,000 people. The company makes top eight world’s largest tractor manufacturers which satisfy 96% of the global demand for tractors. The production association unites Minsk Tractor Works, Smorgon Assemblies Plant, Bobruisk Tractor Parts and Assemblies Plant, Vitebsk Tractor Spare Parts Plant, Minsk Special Tools and Industrial Equipment Plant, Minsk Gear Factory, Lepel Electromechanical Plant, Smolevichi Gear Plant, Gomel Factory 'Hydroprivod', Khoiniki Hydraulics Plant, Narovliany Hydraulics Plant, Mozyr Machine Works. MTZ exports its tractors to more than 60 countries worldwide. At present the company produces 24 models of universal tractors, 6 models of small-size tractors, 8 models of mini-tractors, 15 models of special-purpose machines. |
