SHORT INFORMATION ON FEZ - FEZ "MINSK" - Minsk City Executive Committee

Carrying out the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus N 93 of 02.03.1998 "On Establishment of Free Economic Zones "Minsk"and"Gomel - Raton" and the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Free Economic Zones ", Administration and enterprises - residents of FEZ"Minsk" have achieved the following results:

" today 88 enterprises - residents of FEZ"Minsk" are registered including 76 working now (55 of them are with the foreign capital). In 2002 year 17 residents have been registered.

Dynamics of growth of a number of the registered enterprises - residents of FEZ "Minsk"

1930 new working places were created at the enterprises - residents of FEZ "Minsk" including 872 working places created in 2002.

The main branches of manufacture mastered by enterprises - residents of FEZ"Minsk"

Activity of the enterprises - residents of FEZ "Minsk" is directed to increase of an export share and the development of prior industrial branches in our country, including the application of modern building technologies and materials, manufacture of energy-protecting production, manufacture of medical toolkit and medicines, manufacture and packing of food stuffs.

Realized the production of own manufacture up to 210,0 mlrd.roubles, including in 2002 year - up to 126,0 mlrd. roubles.

Specific gravity of the exported goods, including import - substituted goods, is about 75,6%

Volume of the declared investments (together with the Authorised Capital) is about 100,0 million dollars USA ( in 2002 - 29,1 mln.$US)

Volume of real investments (with account of AC) - 50,4 million dollars USA (in 2002. - 31,8 million dollars USA, 19,4 mln. $US are foreign investments).

Attraction of foreign investments is one of the main tasks of Free Economic Zone "Minsk'. Foreign capital is about 70,5% of all declared investments. 18 foreign countries have invested their capital in creation of industrial enterprises in the territory of FEZ "Minsk". These are USA, England, Russia, Netherlands, Latvia, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Italy, Cyprus, Turkey, Ukrain and others.

With the purpose of attraction of foreign and home investments Administration of FEZ "Minsk" has held a great number of informational and organizational actions, including:

more than 5000 business contacts at the international and republican exhibitions, seminars

more than 2000 statements in MMI, information in 6 sites in Internet

1000 official declares of potential investors

47 sessions of the competitive commission for the right of registration as the FEZ "Minsk" resident. 105 of investment projects have been considered. In 2002 year 9 sessions of the competitive commission took place, and 19 projects were approved.

ν   Project JCJSJC "BRIMSTON-BEL" on creation of manufacture of modern trade and industrial refrigerating equipment.
ν   Project FLTD "STOLKAR" on manufacture of furniture with higher ecological characteristics.
ν   Project CJSC "BELBRIKPROM" on creation of manufacture of obverse carbonat brick.
